Meeting Lithuanian women: Everything you need to know
I’m pretty experienced in international dating, as you’ve probably noticed, but I’m not gonna pretend that I know everything. I’ve never dated Lithuanian singles in my life, unfortunately, but I’ve 2 female friends from Vilnius. I spent two weeks there on a business trip in 2021, and I definitely have some knowledge about them. Like, did you know that Lithuanian women are actually more educated than Lithuanian men? I’ll tell you more here.

Share of dating service users in Lithuania | 8.7% |

Lithuanian women: Hard facts
- Lithuanian single women are incredibly well-educated. Lithuania performs extremely well in education, and Lithuanian girls are more educated than their male counterparts—they have a higher tertiary enrollment rate and outperform men in math and science.
- They are not as traditional as some people think. They’re educated, as you already know, they have a high workforce participation rate, and a pretty low fertility rate. These numbers clearly indicate that today’s Lithuanian women are less conservative and family-centered than they were a few decades ago.
- At the same time, they still have strong family values. In Lithuanian society, women are still expected to be involved in family life—as a result, they spend more time on domestic work compared to American women (16.7% of their time compared to 14.6% for American women).
- They do not get married early. Only 0.2% of women in Lithuania get married in their early 20s (20–24 years old), which clearly indicates that young Lithuanian women are more interested in building a career than in starting a family. That’s why most Lithuanian mail order brides are in their early 30s, by the way—when they’re already educated, successful, and ready for something serious.
Best and worst places to meet Lithuanian women

Let’s start with the best places to meet Lithuanian singles.
- In Vilnius. It’s not a city that never sleeps; its nightlife isn’t that great, to be honest. For many Americans, Vilnius feels like a small town in the US—small, calm, safe, and beautiful, yet without the metropolis vibes. But still, everything’s possible. You can visit bars like Who Hit John, clubs and courses for group activities, running clubs, nightclubs like Salento, or simply walk down Gediminas Avenue and approach locals there.
- In the United States. In New Philadelphia (Pennsylvania), your chances of meeting a Lithuanian woman would be 20% because 20.8% of the population there is Lithuanian. Chicago has more than 100,000 Lithuanians, making it the largest community outside of Lithuania, so you should try to approach them there as well.
- Online. Seriously, if you want to meet Lithuanian ladies, you just choose a dating app, create a profile, and meet thousands of them. It’s very affordable, safe, and it’s definitely not as time-consuming as going to Lithuania.
What about the worst places to meet them?
- Well, first of all, it’s small Lithuanian cities you should avoid. People there often don’t speak English, women may not be as open-minded as in Vilnius or Kaunas, and the nightlife there is almost non-existent.
- Vilnius city center on weekdays and quiet residential areas in Vilnius during the weekends aren’t ideal either. It’s about both the right time and place, not about one of these things. Vilnius centre is great for meeting single Lithuanian women, but on weekdays, you’ll only meet locals who come back to their offices busy and who don’t want to be approached. Vilnius residential areas are nice and quiet, but they’re even quieter on weekends.
❤️ Secrets to succeeding with Lithuanian women
If you’re going to meet Lithuanian women, read this first—I’m going to explain how to succeed when dating them. According to my friends from Lithuania, these tips will work in the absolute majority of cases!
- They are direct; you’ll have to deal with it. Some say it may be difficult to date single Lithuanian ladies because of this fact, but it’s not true. What you need to understand is that if a Lithuanian woman says unpleasant things to you, she doesn’t want to offend you—it’s just because she’s very straightforward. And you shouldn’t play games with them, either, because they obviously wouldn’t like it.
- Have an outdoor date. Lithuanians have a very deep connection with nature, and having a hiking date instead of a boring, traditional coffee date might be a great idea.
- Learn their language. You don’t need to be a fluent speaker, but even if you can speak Lithuanian on a beginner level, you’ll surprise your date and catch her attention. And that’s how you show respect, which is also very important.
If you keep these things in mind, you’ll already be ahead of most guys. Lithuanian women appreciate honesty, effort, and a genuine interest in their culture, so bring that, and you’re off to a great start.
Things you should never do or say to a Lithuanian woman
- Don’t confuse Lithuania with other countries. They are proud, they love their country, and if you confuse it with Latvia or Poland, they’ll think you’re just another arrogant American tourist.
- Don’t insult their beer or their national basketball team. Why would you do it anyway?
- Don’t refuse if your Lithuanian girlfriend invites you to her family home.
- Don’t accept splitting the bill on the first date, even if a woman offers to split it.
- Don’t expect them to be good at small talk or to smile all the time. This doesn’t mean they’re unfriendly—it’s just that the Baltic States are pretty similar to Eastern Europe in this regard.
